Mirai Nikki Anime Review

Synopsis:

Yukiteru Amano, a junior high student, has trouble making friends. He views himself as a spectator from the sidelines and often writes down what he sees in a cell phone diary. Tormented by solitude, Yukiteru interacts with his imaginary friends Deus Ex Machina, the God of Time and Space, and Muru Muru, Deus's servant. One day, Deus grants Yukiteru's cell phone the ability to record the future for the next 90 days. Yukiteru is then forced to participate in a battle royale with eleven other people, each of whom also have a diary that can predict the future in some unique way. The rules of the game are simple: before the world ends on day 90, the contestants must find and kill all the other contestants, and the last one standing will become Deus's successor.

Okay first of all this is my opinion, so don't bash on me too much. xP

This anime has a typical survival theme like Battle Royale but incorporates a bit of psychological horror and
lots of blood.. It also contains suspense and action. Oh not to forget romance of course.

PLOT:
It was beautiful. It was a typical survival theme, but with major unexpected twists. Pretty much a group of 13 who are entrusted with Future Diaries that could predict their future. Then they must fight to the death to determine the next god. I don't really want to explain it in great detail, so just refer to the synopsis above. Okay, it started off pretty quick and the plot didn't feel like it was dragging on, which is good. I can't say much since I would probably spoil it, however let's just say the plot was ALMOST flawless.
SPOILER PART (skip if you want): WHATS WITH THE ENDING? So damn sad. I mean I expected a happy ending with Yukki and Yuno. Well then again I also expected that Yukki (Yukiteru) would kill Yuno or something, and I was also wrong. Such a sad ending for the main leads, but it was really nice for all the other characters. So i guess it isn't too bad...Well this was my only problem with the anime, but others might like the odd ending.

Characters: 

Yukiteru: There were some really weak characters..*cough cough* (Yukiteru). I mean he was not one of those totally bad ass main male leads like Kirito of Sword Art Online (cmon he was pretty OP). He helped the story progress nicely though. And i guess he wasn't so bad by the end of the anime. However his weak character was not such a big deal since the female lead was a TOTAL BA.

Yuno: The female lead who if i could describe in a few words it would be: Hardcore Stalker. Lets say you have a stalker (I am pretty sure you have experienced or know one. If not, that stalker is probably you. lol jk)., multiply his/her's stalker abilities by a million and you get Yuno. Of course her Future Diary was pretty much screaming, stalk Yukki. However she was a big factor on why this anime was so awesome. Her insanity and bad ass character makes the viewer just jump in joy (in a cruel but fun way). She has got to be the most mysterious character though.

Other characters: Eh they weren't so special, except for Uryu Minene (the ninth). She turned out to be a pretty important character, and shes cool...
Oh of course i can't forget Aru Akise, who i must say was my eye candy for the anime. <3 He was pretty chill....and cute.

Hmm I may be a bit biased on which characters are important. But these are the other characters I feel should be noted.
 


Okay to end this i will say that this anime was FRICKEN BRILLIANT. I hesitated a lot on whether or not I should watch this since it seemed a bit different than my normal preference. However after watching it nonstop til the end, it has definitely become one of my favorite. The anime is filled with suspense, romance, and action that will keep you on your toes. (Will it kept me). If you have a hard time deciding which anime to watch next, definitely consider Mirai Nikki. Warning: if you dont like blood and heads getting chopped off, you MIGHT not wanna watch this.
